Hephesto 2 is our second DIY printer (Do it yourself). Hephesto was based on Prusa i3, one of the most popular models of the RepRap community, but with this new version we have evolved to offer a professional printer while maintaining the original spirit. We have bet on a new design with which we get a greater volume of printing that reaches the (x) 210mm x (y) 297mm x (z) 220mm.

Materials and design, keys to stability.
Hephesto 2 is a particularly stable printer. To achieve this, we have replaced plastic parts printed by metal parts. The use of aluminium and steel provides a professional finish and a robust structure. These materials are combined with semi-transparent polymethacrylate parts that protect certain components and allow the internal mechanism of the printer to be covered. In addition, it has three support points and a retractable leg that moves on the z-axis to adjust the height and stabilize the printer.

3, 2, 1? Print!
Our goal has been that you can have the Hephesto 2 ready to print in less than 2 hours. The pieces have been designed taking into account this objective: to minimize the amount of additional elements and to facilitate their recognition in the packaging to make it more comfortable and intuitive. The result is a careful line printer with a fast and effective assembly process.

If you can imagine it, you can print it.
Hephesto 2 can print 3D parts with most materials on the market, such as bronze, wood or copper filament. This is possible thanks to the new 100% extruder designed by BQ, which incorporates a double drive gear system. This component is made up of two toothed wheels that press and push the filament through the Hot-End with an optimal traction and grip. In this way, Hephesto 2 prints flexible materials like the Filaflex without difficulty.

New inductive sensor with maximum precision.
For the final result to be perfect, the extruder must always work at a specific distance from the bed. Hephesto 2 includes a new inductive sensor that accurately measures that distance. The sensor is made up of an electric coil that generates a magnetic field. When the bed approaches the field, the sensor detects it at a certain distance and tells the user that its position is correct by means of a small red LED. This allows a manual levelling to be done with maximum accuracy. It also includes the option of self-winding: the sensor measures the degree of inclination of the bed and adjusts the movement of the engines so that the printing is perfect even with the tilted surface.

100% BQ electronics.
All the components of the main Hephesto 2 electronics are integrated into a single plate: Zum Mega 3D. This component, developed by BQ, includes new features and features Micro USB connection. It also improves heat dissipation and control of the printer\'s engines. In turn, we have developed the control electronics of the new graphic LCD and its interface, which is more intuitive and makes user experience easier.
